Criminal Charges and Tickets in Mt. Juliet
Mt. Juliet is in Wilson County, part of Tennessee's 15th Judicial District. County cases are heard in Lebanon. Our office is in Gallatin, and attorney Chloe Hawes handles our criminal defense cases.
• Mt. Juliet Municipal Court. City traffic citations are handled by the Mt. Juliet Municipal Court, 1019 Charlie Daniels Parkway, which is also police headquarters. The court's posted citation instructions give you 45 days from the date of the ticket to choose one of three options: pay, plead not guilty and ask for a hearing, or apply for traffic school. If you do nothing, a default judgment can be entered, and your license can be suspended.
• Traffic school. Traffic school is limited to certain moving violations, and the court's citation instructions list who qualifies.
• Drivers under 18. A parent or guardian must call for a court date, and the young driver must appear in court.
• State charges. Misdemeanors and first appearances are in Wilson County General Sessions Court, in the Wilson County Criminal Justice Center, 115 East High Street, Lebanon. Felonies and all criminal jury trials are in Wilson County Circuit Criminal Court at the same address.
• Drug Court. The 15th Judicial District Drug Court is a sentencing option for some non-violent offenders with an alcohol or drug addiction.

Probate, Wills and Conservatorship for Mt. Juliet Families
A will is probated in the county where the person usually lived when they died (Tenn. Code Ann. § 32-2-101). For a Mt. Juliet resident, that is the Wilson County Probate Court.
• Clerk. The Wilson County Clerk and Master serves as clerk of Probate Court, in the Wilson County Judicial Center, 134 South College Street, Lebanon.
• What it handles. Estates, conservatorships, guardianships, muniment of title and small estate cases, among others.
• Forms. The clerk posts probate forms online, including a small estate petition. The clerk cannot give legal advice on which form to use.
Our estate work is handled by attorney Kylene Ross with our probate paralegal, who has 20 years of probate, wills and estates experience. Read our guide to executor duties in Tennessee, or see our probate, conservatorship, wills and trusts and power of attorney pages.
